Empire State Green Standard Alliance Welcomes Tiffany Walters to Board of Directors

Albany, NY — September 23rd, 2025 — The Empire State Green Standard Alliance (ESGSA) proudly announces the appointment of Tiffany Walters to its Board of Directors. Walters brings more than a decade of leadership experience in regulated industries, workforce development, and board governance to the Alliance, strengthening its mission to protect and empower cannabis consumers across New York State by promoting safety, education, and fair policy.

Walters is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of New York State Cannabis Connect (NYSCC), where she has led statewide initiatives in workforce training, research, and education.

Under her leadership, NYSCC partnered with SUNY and CUNY institutions to launch pioneering cannabis curricula and workforce surveys, and spearheaded the Catch a Cont@ct Career Summits, the first statewide cannabis career development events in partnership with the New York State Department of Labor.

In addition to her entrepreneurial work, Walters currently serves as a Continuing Education Instructor at Kingsborough Community College (CUNY), where she helps prepare adult learners for sustainable employment and career advancement. She is also a dedicated small business owner, operating a licensed childcare business in Rochester, NY for more than eight years with an exemplary compliance record.

Her governance experience includes serving as an Advisory Board Member of the Hudson Valley Cannabis Education Consortium and as a Board Member of the Georgia Cannabis Business Chamber of Commerce, where she has helped shape workforce initiatives and policy development across state lines.

“Tiffany Walters is a visionary leader who brings deep expertise in regulated industries, workforce development, and equity advocacy,” said Herb Barbot, Chair of the ESGSA. “Her proven leadership in workforce development, equity advocacy, and consumer protection will help advance our mission to build a safe, transparent, and trustworthy cannabis marketplace in New York State.”

The launch of the GSA comes at a pivotal moment for New York’s cannabis consumers, as both independent journalism and state regulators have confirmed problems in the market.

Walters, a Magna Cum Laude graduate of SUNY Brockport, has built her career on advancing equity, strengthening consumer trust, and shaping the future of regulated and sustainable industries. She now joins the Empire State Green Standard Alliance Board of Directors to help guide the Alliance’s strategic vision and advance its statewide mission.
