Though the two cannabinoids share the same origin, there are differences between them and the effects they provide.

Delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is well known among users of cannabis and cannabidiol (CBD) for the intoxicatingly psychoactive “high” it produces. One of over 100 cannabinoids in cannabis, delta-9 THC typically occurs in high concentrations in the cannabis sativa flower. Delta-8, a lesser-known cannabinoid, also occurs in the flower, though at lower concentrations.
